Third printing of this important edition of Austen's works, with 'Text based on the collation of the early editions' by R. W. Chapman. With Notes, Indexes and illustrations from contemporary sources. These b/w images include pertinent landscapes, transport, Dress and dancing techniques. Complete in five volumes (Persuasion and Northanger Abbey bound as one). In spritely Green cloth with decorated dust jackets with advertisements to rear covers. Persuasion/Northanger Abbey jacket has a significant tear to spine with loss. Other DJs have small nicks and bumping and light marking but are fair+/ good overall. Some DJs are price-clipped. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Volumes are clean and tight with minor shelfwear. Very good overall.
