F. C. Burnand

Bradbury, Agnew & Co. 1890

Binding:  Hardback  |  Condition: Good  |

Burnand's first book, serialized in Punch in 1863, a collection of humorous vignettes, illustrated with the original artwork from the magazine. Burnand went on to edit Punch and swiftly increased both its readership and relevance. Bound in full blue leather by Bumpus and son. All edges gilt. Doublures and marbled endpapers. Cracking to outer hinges. Rubbing to edges. Bookplate of Harold A. Wernher and inscription to front pastedown. Offsetting to free end-papers. But contents clean and binding sound. Good.
