Exquisite leather 'relievo' binding, designed and illustrated by Owen Jones, with verse by Mary Ann Bacon, with the engraving done by Edward La Trobe Bateman. One of a small selection of deluxe volumes produced using an innovative technique devised by the printers Edmonds & Remnants to create heavily and intricately embossed leather. Equally luxurious within, with 14 chromolithograph plates of flowers with verse by Bacon opposite, also done using chromolithography in a manuscript style and printed by Jones himself. All edges gilt. Decorative cloth end-papers. Inner and outer dentelles. 4to. Rubbing to top and tail of spine. Some cracking to joints . Rubbing to leather at edges. Binding sound and contents clean. Good/very good.
