Scarce First Edition of Rostron's autobiography, describing his career at sea from late 19th century, first serving on sailing ships before joining Cunard where he went onto to become Commodore of their fleet. During WWI he served at Gallipoli with distinction but Rostron is best known for captaining the RMS Carpathia and the heroic rescue of over 700 survivors from the Titanic in 1912, which he recounts.
